Samsung does special edition devices with the best of them, and fans of the K-Pop group BTS are in for a treat with the Galaxy S20 Plus BTS edition. You can also track down a special pair of Galaxy Buds Plus to match your device, but don’t expect the search to be easy. When did Samsung announce the collaboration?

Samsung announced the devices on its website in 2020, and for fans of BTS, they sound like a really worthwhile purchase. We reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus as a tremendous device last year, and the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus improved on Samsung’s original true wireless earbuds in a big way. Add in the special BTS branding, and you have a recipe for #BTSARMY excitement.

The OEM later released preorder information on its own site as well as on Amazon. Unfortunately for us, the devices sold like hotcakes and are tough to track down these days.

What do the devices look like?

The phone’s internals remain the same, so buyers will get all the power they’ve come to expect, but they’ll also get a new purple heart design that’ll make the phone stand out from the crowd. It also features a purple glass and metal exterior to keep with the BTS color scheme.

As for the software, the phone comes with pre-installed BTS-inspired themes and the band’s fan community platform, Weverse.

Inside the box is also a set of decorative stickers and photo cards featuring pictures of the band members, which is a nice little bonus for fans.

As for the buds, they’re also the same wonderful devices we’ve grown to love, but they’re dripping in purple. They also have the band’s logo and purple heart iconography featured prominently.

Like the phone, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus BTS Edition also includes photo cards inside the box.

BTS Edition price and availability

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus BTS Edition and Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus BTS Edition launched on Amazon and through Samsung’s website. They released on July 9, 2020, which just so happens to be the seventh anniversary of the BTS fan collective.

The phone itself costs $1,249.99 unlocked, but the popularity led to some serious price gouging on Amazon. The only link we could find leads you to alternate sellers who are asking for over $3,400 for the device.

Of course, if you want the Galaxy Buds Plus BTS Edition, they would have cost an extra $100 at launch. However, the popularity of the earbuds means that you’ll have to fork over $195 for the Korean version or a whopping $248 for the US version.
