TL;DR
  • The Samsung Galaxy S21 launch date is finally official.
  • The phones will make their debut on January 14, 2021.
  • Judging by pre-registration dates, it’s likely that the phones will only ship at the end of January.

After months of seemingly endless leaks and teasers, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series finally has an official launch date. The Korean company’s latest flagship line will debut on January 14, 2021, rubber-stamping initial rumors of an earlier than usual arrival.

Traditionally, the Galaxy S line makes its debut between February and April. More recently, Samsung made a habit of launching its pinnacle series a week ahead of MWC. The 2021 edition will be a departure from this norm.

Of course, leaks from official sources and tipsters haven’t left much to the imagination, but much of the series’ key info remains unconfirmed.

We understand that there will be the usual three models on offer, including the vanilla S21, the S21 Plus, and the S21 Ultra variants. The latter is shaping up to be the most interesting, with possible S Pen support and Samsung’s second-gen 108MP camera sensor. For those who don’t care about having everything but the kitchen sink, the Galaxy S21 Plus could be the more sensible upgrade path for those still using Galaxy S10 or Note 10 devices.

Samsung Galaxy S21: Pre-registration now open

Samsung has already kicked off its pre-registration program in the US, offering a number of credit bonuses. The final date for users to get their registrations in is January 28, 2021, suggesting the phones will be available in late January/early February for general consumers.

Nevertheless, all will be revealed and confirmed at Samsung’s Unpacked event on January 14, 2021, beginning at 10 AM ET (3 PM GMT, 8:30 PM IST).
