It's finally here: Galaxy S22 series is getting stable Android 13 now
- Samsung has reportedly pushed stable Android 13 to the Galaxy S22 series.
- The One UI 5 update seems to be available for Exynos models only right now.
Samsung promised us that the One UI 5 would be coming to the Galaxy S22 series later this month. It turns out we didn’t have to wait too long, as numerous Galaxy S22 series owners are reporting that the stable update is available now.
Users on both Twitter and Reddit have confirmed that the stable Android 13-based update is hitting their phones now. The update apparently weighs in at almost 3GB and stays on the October 2022 security patch.
Redditors have noted that the One UI 5 update is landing in the likes of Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. We can also confirm that the update has landed in the UK on our review unit. This suggests that the update is only available for Exynos models right now. But we hope the update comes to Snapdragon variants in no time flat.
What to expect?
In any event, One UI 5 brings a number of handy features and tweaks to Galaxy S22 series phones. This includes modes (joining Routines functionality), a security and privacy dashboard, and video wallpaper functionality.
Other notable features include Android 13-specific features such as per-app language controls, notification permissions, and improved Material You support.
