Leak dishes out key specs of the Samsung Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra
- Several specs of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series have leaked.
- The information highlights battery, camera, and SoC changes on the new phones.
Samsung is many months away from the launch of its next Galaxy S flagships, but that hasn’t stopped leakers from suggesting what we can expect from the phones. Twitter tipster FrontTron has dished out several key specs of the rumored Galaxy S22 series, combining what we’ve already heard with some fresh details.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series rumored specs
To start off, the leaker reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S22 would feature a 6.06-inch LTPS display, while the S22 Plus would come with a 6.55-inch screen. Only the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to get an LTPO panel with a 6.81-inch footprint. It looks like Samsung is not changing much in this area compared to the Galaxy S21 series.
Next up, the leak reveals some new camera specs for the Galaxy S22 trio. The source previously said that the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus would house a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 12MP telephoto sensor. We now get details of the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s camera configuration, suggesting that the phone would pack a 108MP main sensor, two 12MP telephoto shooters (up from 10MP on the S21 Ultra), and another 12MP ultra-wide camera. The setup is also rumored to include laser autofocus.

The batteries powering the vanilla Galaxy S22 and the S22 Plus might be slightly less powerful this time around. The phones could make do with 3,800mAh and 4,600 batteries, respectively, as opposed to the 4,000mAh and 4,800mAh batteries of the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is estimated to get a 5,000mAh battery, the same as the current Ultra model. The lineup is also expected to skip an under-display camera.
Limited availability of Exynos models with AMD GPU
Samsung is expected to power the Galaxy S22 phones with a new, more powerful Exynos 2200 chipset. Its specialty will be the AMD graphics that’ll bring ray tracing and variable rate shading capabilities to the phones.
Unfortunately, the latest leak claims that the availability of the Exynos Galaxy S22 models will be very limited because of the low yield of the chipset. As such, most markets should get the Snapdragon 898 version of the phones with the Adreno GPU.
