Leaker claims the Galaxy S22 Ultra could have a Note-inspired name instead
- A tipster claims that the Galaxy S22 Ultra could get a name change.
- It’s believed that the phone could be called the S22 Note instead.
We got our first apparent look at Galaxy S22 Ultra renders several months ago, showing a phone with an S Pen slot much like the Galaxy Note series. However, it seems that Samsung might not call it the Galaxy S22 Ultra after all.
Frequent leaker FrontTron claimed on Twitter that the phone would actually be called the Galaxy S22 Note instead, ostensibly reflecting the upcoming phone’s primary influence. You can view the tweet below.
Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time we’ve mentioned “S22 Note” on our website. We previously asked readers to choose which name they’d prefer for the S22 Ultra, with S22 Note being one of these options. It turned out that it was the second-most popular choice (27%), behind “S22 Ultra” (43%), but ahead of “Note 22 Ultra” (23%), and “other” (7%).
Either way, Galaxy Note fans will be glad to see a Samsung flagship with a slot for convenient S Pen storage, as both the S21 Ultra and Z Fold 3 supported the S Pen but lacked this slot. The phone is tipped to arrive with either a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or Exynos 2200 chipset, a 5,000mAh battery, a 108MP main camera, two telephoto cameras, and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter.
