Galaxy S24 owners can now get a taste of Android 17 with One UI 9 beta

Samsung is moving quickly to expand its One UI 9 beta program to older Galaxy devices. After opening the program to the Galaxy S25 series and confirming its 2025 foldables as the next devices in line, Samsung has now started rolling out the first One UI 9 beta to the Galaxy S24 series, bringing Android 17 to its 2024 flagship phones.

The rollout was first spotted in the US, where the Galaxy S24 series can now access the beta through the Samsung Members app. According to tipster Tarun Vats on X, the US version carries build S92xU1UEU6ZZHL.

The beta has since expanded to India and South Korea, as Tarun pointed out in other X posts, with Galaxy S24 owners in both markets also reporting access. The Indian version carries build S92xBXXU6ZZHL while the Korean version is listed as S92xNKSUHZZHL.

That means Samsung’s One UI 9 beta is now confirmed for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and Galaxy S24 Ultra across at least three markets. The rollout is particularly interesting because the US appeared to get access before Samsung’s home market. However, the initial regional rollout happened quickly enough that this may have been a staggered release.

The first beta is a sizeable download, coming in at roughly 3.6GB. It upgrades the phones to Android 17 and includes the August 5, 2026 security patch. The update brings new features and improvements to personalization, productivity, and security.

Galaxy S24 owners in supported markets can join the program through the Samsung Members app. Once enrolled, the beta should appear under Settings > Software update > Download and install.

As expected with beta software, Samsung recommends backing up important data before installing. However, some apps may not work properly until they are updated.

For now, the beta is confirmed in the US, India, and South Korea. Galaxy S24 owners in the UK and other markets will have to wait and see if Samsung expands the rollout to their region.
