TL;DR
  • The Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro will reportedly have an Exynos 2700 processor in some markets, including Europe and Korea.
  • It’s also believed that the base and Plus models will have Exynos power in some locales.
  • Samsung hasn’t apparently decided if it will use the Exynos 2700 chip in the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Samsung is widely tipped to be working on a Galaxy S27 Pro, joining the standard, Plus, and Ultra models. It’s believed that this Pro phone could be a significant step up from the standard and Plus variants, but it now sounds like this device could have one major spec in common.

The Elec reports that the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27 Plus, and Galaxy S27 Pro will all be available with an Exynos 2700 processor in some regions. More specifically, the Korean outlet reports that Exynos models will be available in Europe and Korea, while Snapdragon variants will be available in China and the US.

Either way, Samsung has reportedly increased Exynos 2700 production by almost 10% compared to its predecessor. This is apparently attributed to the S27 Pro adopting the chip in some markets.

Do you think an Exynos-powered S27 Pro is the right move?

What about the Galaxy S27 Ultra, though? It’s believed Samsung hasn’t decided whether it will use the Exynos 2700 chip in the Ultra model. If Samsung decides to use its in-house chip in the S27 Ultra, it would be the first time since 2022’s Galaxy S22 Ultra that we have an Ultra phone with Exynos silicon.

The Elec also reports that opinions are divided over the use of Exynos silicon in the Ultra phone. Samsung’s LSI division, which makes Exynos chips, is apparently (and unsurprisingly) in favor of an Exynos-powered Ultra. The Mobile Experience (MX) unit, on the other hand, is said to be weighing factors like performance, heating, and unit costs before making a decision.

We nevertheless hope that the Exynos 2700 offers competitive performance, heating, and battery life compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Otherwise, the Galaxy S27 Pro might not be worthy of its moniker, let alone the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
