If you find the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e too much for your wallet, we have some good news — Samsung quietly announced an update to the cheaper Galaxy Tab A 10.1 tablet over the weekend.

Like its predecessor, the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a 10.1-inch display with Full HD+ (1,920 x 1,200) resolution. Similar to newer Samsung tablets, you won’t find a home button on the Galaxy Tab A 10.1.

The tablet features a metal housing, rear 8MP camera, selfie 5MP sensor, Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 7904 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, and a 6,150mAh battery. The battery’s quite a deal smaller than the 7,040mAh battery found in the Galaxy Tab S5e, but the modest specs should still afford good battery life.

Finally, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 runs Android 9 Pie with Samsung’s One UI software overlay out of the box.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 will launch April 5 in Germany and will come in black, gold, and silver. The Wi-Fi-only version will go for 210 euros, while the LTE variant will sell for 270 euros.

We’ll keep an eye out for possible launches in other regions. In the meantime, let us know in the comments if you’d go for the updated Galaxy Tab A 10.1 over the Galaxy Tab S5e.
