Samsung announces wider rollout of Galaxy Tab A9 series, but forgot a key detail
- Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9 Plus for global markets.

Samsung had silently launched the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9 Plus in India at the beginning of this month. Despite being a decent contender for a good budget Android tablet, there was little communication from the company about its product. Samsung has finally announced the Tab A9 and Tab A9 Plus for the global market.
In its official newsroom announcement, Samsung has shared the official spec sheet of the Tab A9 and Tab A9 Plus tablets. The announcement still skips over significant details, like the global pricing and regional availability. But the tablets are coming to select markets in Graphite, Silver, and Navy colors. Samsung also has a book cover case and a book cover keyboard slim accessory sold separately, though pricing remains unknown.
Galaxy Tab A9
The Galaxy Tab A9 has an 8.7-inch 60Hz LCD with a resolution of 1,340 x 800. It measures 211.0 x 124.7 x x 8.0 mm and weighs 332g (Wi-Fi)/333g (LTE). Samsung doesn’t specify the processor in its spec sheet, but we know it is a MediaTek Helio G99, coming in 4GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants, along with up to 1TB microSD card support.
There is an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The battery is 5,100mAh. The Tab A9 has Bluetooth 5.3 in 4G LTE and Wi-Fi variants. It also runs Android 13.
In India, the Galaxy Tab A9 (4GB + 64GB) is priced at Rs. 12,999 (~$156) for the Wi-Fi variant and Rs. 15,999 (~$192) for the 4G variant.
Galaxy Tab A9 Plus
The Galaxy Tab A9 Plus has an 11-inch 90Hz LCD with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200. It measures 257.1 x 168.7 x 6.9 mm and weighs 480g (Wi-Fi)/491g (5G). Again, we know the processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 (SM6375), coming in 4GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB variants, along with up to 1TB microSD card support.
There is an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The battery is 7,040mAh. The Tab A9 Plus has Bluetooth 5.1 in 5G and Wi-Fi variants. It also runs Android 13. There are quad speakers for Dolby Atmos support, as well as support for Samsung DeX.
