The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 might arrive September 1
Just because the Galaxy Note 7 launch is scheduled for August 2 doesn’t mean that Samsung plans to show up to IFA 2016 empty-handed. While a couple of new tablets and maybe a new Gear smartwatch were always on the cards, we may now know what one of those devices will be: the Galaxy Tab S3.
The rumored Galaxy Tab S3 launch date comes from Russian leaker Eldar Murtazin who has a pretty decent track record with Samsung leaks. The date’s alignment with the press days prior to IFA in Berlin also make sense but Murtazin doesn’t provide any proof for his forecast.
September 1 – Tab S3 ;) видимо так и будет— Eldar Murtazin (@eldarmurtazin) July 19, 2016
A successor to last year’s iPad-esque Galaxy Tab S2, the Tab S3 would likely stick wth the 4:3 aspect ratio that caused such a fuss last year. The rumor mill has been relatively quiet on the Tab S3, so there’s not much to report on the specs front. But if last year’s Tab S2 is anything to go by, it will be one of Samsung’s better tablets this year.
Considering the timing, Android 7.0 out of the box is unlikely, but a Nougat update might be possible before the end of the year. But with the Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Tab S2 only just arriving last month, don’t get your hopes up too high for a new Nougat tablet from Samsung in September.
