Does the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE have wireless charging?

As mentioned in the quick answer section, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE does not feature wireless charging of any kind. It’s also not a feature we were expecting it to have, though. Tablets with wireless charging are very rare. And since none of the standard Galaxy Tab S9 devices have wireless charging either, it makes no sense to expect this more affordable one to have said feature.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE relies on its USB-C port for charging. It supports 45W charging, just like the Galaxy Tab S9 series, as well as leading handsets like the Galaxy S23 Ultra. There is no charger in the box, so make sure you pick the right one. If you need some recommendations, take a look at our list of the best Galaxy S23 chargers and pick one of the ones with support for 45W or more.

What are some alternatives to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE with wireless charging

You won’t have many options if you’re dead set on getting a tablet with wireless charging, but we can give you some suggestions. There may be other tablets with wireless charging out there, but these are the ones we would be willing to recommend.

Maybe the Google Pixel Tablet?

We say “maybe” because the Google Pixel Tablet doesn’t have wireless charging either, but it can be charged kind of like a wireless charging device. The Google Pixel Tablet comes with a stand that can charge your device, while also doubling as a speaker.

It’s a nice dynamic, and the tablet attaches to this dock magnetically, making the experience as seamless as wireless charging. The trick here is that this isn’t true wireless charging, as it uses pin connectors to charge and transfer data. And while the Pixel Tablet isn’t perfect, we liked the dock experience.

If you want true wireless charging, Amazon has a couple of options. These are the 2022 Amazon Fire HD 8 Plus and the 2021 Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus. You can get a foldable phone

If you absolutely need a tablet with wireless charging, you will have a very hard time finding one. The options above are the only ones we deem worthy, and one of them doesn’t even have true wireless charging. Our next best suggestion would be that you try a foldable phone.

Of course, we don’t mean foldable flip phones. We are referring to the ones that fold out into a small tablet form factor. These are more akin to larger smartphones, but they become mini tablets of sorts, and pretty much all the worthy ones have wireless charging support. Not to mention, they are incredibly fun and novel devices.

FAQs

It’s not common for tablets to support wireless charging. But if you find one, be ready to keep it charging for quite a while. Tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE have pretty hefty batteries, and this one has an 8,000mAh one. That is nearly twice the size of a smartphone battery, and we consider wireless charging on smartphones pretty slow, most of the time. Usually at about 10W-15W.

None of the Samsung current Samsung tablets have wireless charging. Nor is this a feature commonly found on tablets. The same applies to Apple iPads, for example.
