Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 charging time revealed and it's good news!
- Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will likely charge twice as fast as the Galaxy Watch 4 line.
- A tipster has revealed that the new smartwatches will gain 45% charge in just 30 minutes.
- A new 10W charger is also on the way.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is just days away from its debut. While rumors and leaks have outed almost everything about the new Samsung smartwatches, some finer details are now trickling out just before the August 10 launch. Today, we have some good news about the charging speeds of the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.
Tipster SnoopyTech has posted pictures of a new 10W wireless charger coming alongside the Galaxy Watch 5 series. The images show a charging puck with a USB-C cable.
The leaker reveals that the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro will charge 45% in just 30 minutes. That’s almost double the charging speed of the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

The current Samsung smartwatches take about two hours to reach 100% charge using the 5W charger. Given the leak, it’s possible the Galaxy Watch 5 line will reach a full charge in about an hour.
There’s weight in what the leaker has revealed. The Galaxy Watch 5 series passed through the FCC in mid-June, revealing that it’ll indeed land with 10W wireless charging support. However, we still don’t know if the series would support charging from all wireless charging pads.
