Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series gets new update over Verizon

The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro launched with Wear OS 3 and Samsung’s One UI Watch skin. Samsung confirmed that the series would receive up to four years of software updates, suggesting that support for both devices would be extended through 2026.

Latest Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series update
December 9, 2022: The Galaxy Watch 5 series is getting a new update through Verizon. This usually means the Wi-Fi-only versions have already seen a similar update or will get one shortly. This software update comes with firmware versions R925USQU1AVK6 (45mm), R905USQU1AVK6 (40mm), and R915USQU1AVK6 (44mm) and provides performance improvements and enhancements to the smartwatches.
To check for a Galaxy Watch 5 update on your device, head to Settings > Software update on your watch. Or, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone and head to Watch settings > Watch software update.

- October 18, 2022: The Galaxy Watch 5 got the October 2022 security patch through an over-the-air update.
- September 15, 2022: Samsung is now pushing out a second software update to the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro. At this time, only the Verizon cellular models of the smartwatches are getting the update.The new software is available with firmware version R905USQU1AVH6 (Watch 5, 40mm), R915USQU1AVH6 (Watch 5, 44mm), and R925USQU1AVH6 (Watch 5 Pro). The Bluetooth models received this update last week. Verizon says the current update provides performance improvements on the watches.
- August 26, 2022: The first update for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro landed right near its launch. It was a day one patch weighing just 100MB. It brought stability and reliability improvements to the two smartwatches.
