The Galaxy Z Fold 4 could be next to gain an S Pen slot
- A Korean news outlet has claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will gain an S Pen slot.
- This would be the first time we see a stylus slot on a foldable.
Samsung announced the Galaxy S22 series last week, and the S22 Ultra follows in the Note’s footsteps by offering a dedicated S Pen slot. Now, a Korean news outlet has reported that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 foldable could follow suit.
The Elec reports that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will indeed have an S Pen slot, citing unnamed sources. This isn’t the first time a Samsung foldable had support for the stylus, as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 supported S Pen input as well. But it would mark the first time that a foldable packs an S Pen slot too.
The outlet’s sources say that Samsung is expecting the addition of an S Pen slot on the Z Fold 4 to be a major “selling point.” Furthermore, it’s claimed that the upcoming foldable will have a 7.56-inch main screen and a 6.19-inch external display, roughly in line with the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Samsung is also said to be focusing on the new model’s durability. The Z Fold 3 offers IPX8 water resistance and a tougher foldable screen, so we’re keen to see how the company improves matters in this regard. We’d like to see dust resistance and an even tougher foldable display, although the former might be difficult to implement given the complexity of foldable phone designs.
The Elec adds that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will feature a 6.7-inch foldable screen in line with the Z Flip 3, but claimed that the external display will be slightly larger (from 1.83 inches to 1.9 inches).
