Samsung's One UI is coming to Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, Note 8
- Samsung confirmed to Android Authority that the new Samsung One UI is coming to some older devices.
- Specifically, One UI will come to the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and Note 8.
- Samsung One UI is the newest iteration of its Android skin, currently known as Samsung Experience.
At the Samsung Developers Conference on November 7, Samsung revealed the newest iteration of its popular Android skin. Branded as Samsung One UI, the new skin aims to make navigating Android simpler and is designed around how we use our phones today.
One UI will eventually replace what is currently known as Samsung Experience, which itself was originally known as TouchWiz.
We previously knew Samsung One UI would come to the newest flagships in Samsung’s arsenal, namely the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, and Galaxy Note 9. However, Android Authority can confirm that One UI will also come to the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and Galaxy Note 8.
You can watch the video below to get a better idea of what One UI is like and how it will make navigating around your phone easier and more pleasant:
Samsung is currently accepting sign-ups for the beta of One UI, which will roll out to S9/Note 9 devices sometime this month. Samsung confirmed that One UI will roll out in its stable version early next year, most likely along with the release of Android 9 Pie for the devices.
We don’t know for certain, but it’s reasonable to assume One UI — along with Android 9 Pie — will roll out to the S8/Note 8 lineups shortly thereafter.
