It's official: The Galaxy Note 20 is coming August 5 (Update: Foldable too)
Update, July 20, 2020 (1:45AM ET): Samsung has now all but confirmed the announcement of a foldable device at Unpacked.
A new teaser posted to its Twitter channels, captioned “A new look unfolds,” hints that we’ll likely see the next Galaxy Fold in a Mystic Bronze colorway. Of course, Samsung hasn’t confirmed that we’ll see another Galaxy Fold, so it could be something completely novel.

Original article, July 7, 2020 (7PM ET): We’ve been eagerly awaiting an official date for Samsung’s next Unpacked event, which should feature the likes of the Galaxy Note 20 and possibly some other fun stuff. In recent days we’ve started to see leaks of the new Note device, inferring the launch is just over the horizon. And now, we can officially confirm that.
The next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will be held completely virtually this year on August 5 at 10:00AM ET. This is quite different from the Unpacked events from the before-times, which were big extravagant showpieces to kick off the launch of Samsung’s newest line of devices. At last year’s August Unpacked, we got to see the devices in person. With a virtual event, we’re left with whatever is in the live stream.
After Apple’s meticulously crafted WWDC keynote last month, the bar has been set pretty high for these virtual events. Considering Samsung is suspected to have a lot to show off, it should be a fun time, though we’ll definitely be missing the energy of a live show.
