Samsung's stunning Rose Pink Galaxy S8 is now available in the UK
- Samsung launched a new Rose Pink option for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in the UK
- Rose Pink has been available in Taiwan and South Korea
- The new color does not bring any new features to the phones
When Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 this past April, the company was praised for the phone’s near bezel-less design that is slowly becoming a smartphone staple. Now, you can pick up the phone and its larger sibling in a sharp-looking Rose Pink in the UK.
The new color joins the existing Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, and Arctic Silver options, bringing the total number of color choices for folks in the region to five. It’s definitely not to everyone’s liking, but the Rose Pink options adds a bit of life to the otherwise muted color options of the Galaxy S8, at least in the UK.
Keep in mind that the pink scheme is not a new one — it has been available in Taiwan and Samsung’s home country of South Korea up until now. Shockingly enough, the new color was popular in the countries, so it might end up being a popular choice in the UK.
I can’t help but feel that this announcement comes at an awkward time. Are people clamoring to pick up the Galaxy S8 at this point? I get that it’s a popular smartphone, but it’s January — the Galaxy S9 is right around the corner. As such, will people want to plunk down cash for a phone that is this close to being knocked off the pedestal, just because it’s available in a new color?
Then again, the Galaxy S9 is not expected to make a dramatic leap forward from the Galaxy S8 in the same fashion that the Galaxy S8 did from the Galaxy S7. In other words, the Galaxy S8 is still a perfectly capable smartphone that will still be a great choice a few months from now.
If you’re looking to pick up either the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus in Rose Pink, it is available from “selected retailers” and Samsung’s online store, though Samsung’s store currently says the color option is “coming soon.”
