Saygus V2 will begin pre-orders on January 29th, to be less than $600
One of the more interesting Android phones to come out of CES this year was the dual microSD Saygus V2. Reporting early as a 320GB phone, we refined our expectations when we clarified just 64GB of internal storage, with two external card slots to total up the remaining.
On the show floor, Saygus was not able to provide an expected shipping schedule or pricing for the V2, and we are still a little in the dark even now for both.
Pre-registrations for the V2 have been up for a while, but Saygus now says that sign-ups will be shut down on January 29th, that’s this coming Thursday, at 11:00am Pacific Time. Shortly thereafter, look for a Twitter post on their official account @Saygus, marking the beginning of pre-orders for the device.
In terms of pricing, Saygus hasn’t spilled the beans just yet, but early announcements and indicators placed the phone at sub-$600. We still expect that to be true, but will have to wait for further word to confirm.
Looking at the specs sheet, the Saygus V2 is looking to bring top notch hardware, with a bit of a trick up its sleeve, for a reasonable price. It may be a little premature to suggest that the OnePlus One will be dethroned as the leading ‘flagship killer,’ or that the Saygus V2 will lead the pack on the next round of flagships, but we are liking what we are seeing so far.
If you are interested in more info on the device, or to pre-register today, head on over to the Saygus V2 product page. If you’d rather hold off until pre-orders open, you can head to the pre-order page now as well.
Will you be ordering up a Saygus V2, or will you wait to see what new flagship devices are headed our way at MWC before you make any decisions?
