In 1997, 3D Realms, the development team behind Duke Nukem 3D, released Shadow Warrior for the PC. It remains one of the best first person shooters ever made, and now you can finally play it on your Android smartphone or tablet for just $2.99, thanks to publisher Devolver Digital and the game’s Android developer, General Arcade. However, for its launch the price has been cut down to just $0.99.

The original game has you playing the role of Lo Wang, the “Shadow Warrior” of the title, that has to fight against his own employers, the Zilla Corporation, who are trying to take over the world with the help of some demonic creatures. Shadow Warrior has many of the same features as Duke Nukem 3D, including a main character that likes to make some suggestive one-liners, along with lots of blood and violence (yes, this game is rated “M” for players 17 years of age and older). The game also has some features that were considered revolutionary in 1997, including drivable vehicles.

The Android version of the game, Shadow Warrior Classic Redux, includes the first two episodes of the original 1997 title, along with the content from its two official expansion packs, Wanton Destruction and Twin Dragon. While it does support touchscreen controls, you can also play the Android version with any compatible game controllers as well. The $2.99 game does not have any in-app purchases or ads.

By the way, this game is being released on the same day that publisher Devolver Digital and developer Flying Wild Hog are also releasing Shadow Warrior 2, an all-new game in the series, for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles (it was released for the PC in 2016).
