Bought an iPhone 2 years ago? Don't forget to claim your piece of Apple's settlement

Sometimes, it’s hard to go even a single day without feeling like companies are taking advantage of you. Maybe it’s your streaming services raising prices again, or that tub of ice cream at the supermarket coming in smaller and smaller than the half gallon it’s supposed to be. With so many little injustices wearing us down, we feel positively giddy when the tables are turned and it’s instead a company that owes us money for a change. If you’re an Apple smartphone user, that may be exactly the situation you’re in right now.

Right now, Siri is experiencing its latest Apple Intelligence moment with the arrival of iOS 27 and the iPhone 18 Pro series. Apple’s been teasing Siri’s big AI upgrades for literally years now, though, and while it’s definitely great that it’s finally getting a lot better, what about everybody who bought an iPhone back then and didn’t get the Apple Intelligence they expected at the time?

Well, good news: You’ve got some money coming your way. Or, at least you could, if you bought a qualifying device during the right time period and submit a claim for your part of the settlement. You see, while Apple hasn’t admitted to any wrongdoing here, the company still agreed to a $250 million settlement — and you might be able to get a piece of it.

To qualify, you’ll need to live in the US and have purchased an iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 15 Pro Max between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. Once your claim is in, you can expect to receive $25 per eligible device, although up to $95 is possible. Technically, it could fall even lower, but $25 sounds like a likely outcome.

Sure, that’s just a drop in the bucket compared to what you likely shelled out for your iPhone, and you can’t get back all that time you didn’t have access to next-gen Siri, but at least it’s something. If you intend to submit a claim, you have until December 21 to get it filed.
