We are quickly closing in on CES 2015, which will take place from January 6th to 9th, and Sony appears to have just released a little teaser video (above) for its big announcement at the electronics show.

As you would expect, there are plenty of clues to decipher, so let’s dive right on in to see what is hidden away in the 43 second teaser.

Welcome to the New World Teaser 1

First up, the video opens with blurred shot of a thin looking device, most likely a smartphone or tablet, followed by the number five, which is referenced again throughout the video. Later on, there is an obvious shot of a Lollipop, so we can certainly expect a device running the latest version of Android, and this most likely explains the repeated use of the number five (Android 5.0).

Welcome to the New World Teaser 2

We can also clearly spot a short clip of some electronic looking waves, which suggests that Sony could also announce some new audio technology or improvements to its Walkman software. Throughout the video there are also number close ups of eyes and plenty of colors, hinting at some new camera and/or display technology, and there’s a nice low light shot of Paris thrown in, again possibly related to a new camera sensor. In one of the last eyeball close-ups we can clearly see a silhouette of the device, but it’s tough to make out any details.

With Sony’s mobile business still struggling with poor sales, the company’s next handset is bound to be an important one. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to see what the company has planned for 2015.

Have you managed to spot any other cryptic clues hidden away within the video?
