Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones are coming next week
- Sony UK has teased “exciting news” coming on May 12.
- The accompanying teaser image is in line with the WH-1000XM5 headphones.
We saw a few leaked images and specs regarding Sony’s WH-1000XM5 headphones earlier this month, showing a pair of headphones with a sleeker design. Now, it looks like Sony will make the product official next week.
Sony UK posted a teaser on Twitter for “exciting” news taking place on May 12, 2022 at 4 PM GMT (midday ET). The device in the teaser image also lines up with leaked pictures of the WH-1000XM5 headphones, suggesting that the headphones will be revealed on the day. Check out the picture below.
Leaked specs suggest the headphones will offer 30 or 40 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 5.2, support for a headphone jack, and an on/off slider instead of a button. It’s also claimed that the XM5s can be fully charged in 3.5 hours.
We’ll just have to wait for next week to get the official details, but hopefully the new headphones live up to Sony’s previous device. Our sister website SoundGuys thought the WH-1000XM4 delivered great noise cancellation, quality audio, and a comfortable design. In saying so, they also criticized the cost of the device and reduced endurance compared to the XM3.
