Sony Xperia 5 III is now available in the US (and comes with a great freebie)
- The Sony Xperia 5 III smartphone is finally available in the United States.
- Sony will give early buyers a free set of WF-1000XM3 true-wireless earbuds.
- The suggested retail price of the phone is $999.
Sony launched its latest pair of “Mach III” smartphones in the summer of 2021. While the Sony Xperia 1 III made it to the United States that year, its smaller sibling is just now making it to our shores.
Our review: Sony Xperia 1 III
Starting today, the Sony Xperia 5 III is now available in the United States. This phone is slightly smaller than the Xperia 1 III and has slightly weaker specs. It does have pretty much the same camera system, though, and two of the most integral features to the line: a 3.5mm headphone port and a microSD card slot.
In the US, the phone costs $999. That might seem steep (because it is), but it is cheaper than the Xperia 1 III, which starts at $1,299. Ouch.
To help soften the pricing blow, early buyers can get the Sony Xperia 5 III with a free set of WF-1000XM3 true wireless earbuds. These top-rated ‘buds are some of the best in the industry, really only surpassed by the WF-1000XM4 model that came out in 2020. They are a $200 value, so that’s a nice freebie indeed.
Additionally, early buyers also get 43,200 Call of Duty: Mobile CP points, which has a value of $540. Obviously, you need to play CoD: Mobile for that to be of any interest.
As of publishing, listings for the phone are available at Best Buy and Amazon, but not yet with the freebies. The freebies are listed already at Sony.com if you want to go that route.
The Sony Xperia 5 III comes in black and green. Unfortunately, the Frosted Purple colorway of the Xperia 1 III didn’t make its way to the Xperia 5 line.
