Sony Xperia XZ2 may have been outed in now-deleted carrier tweet
The Sony Xperia XZ2 may have been outed by carrier Three. Responding to a question on Twitter regarding the Xperia XA2 availability, Three Ireland said it wouldn’t stock the XA2, but the XZ2—which Sony is yet to announce—would be on sale.
The tweet was subsequently deleted, hinting that it contained sensitive information, but not before someone on Reddit could grab a screenshot of it.
No specific details about the device were revealed, through Three Ireland did say the XZ2 would be coming soon, so it’s likely to be seen at MWC 2018 later this month. The Xperia XZ Pro and XZ2 Compact have also been tipped for a reveal at the electronics event, both of which are said to arrive with a Snapdragon 845 chip. If the Xperia XZ2 is on its way, you should expect the same SoC and a high price tag to boot.
All of that being said, Three probably would have deleted the tweet even if it was simply incorrect, and not an accidental reveal of a future product. Don’t take it as verbatim just yet.
