Sprint releases Nexus 6: $299 on contract, 32GB/Midnight Blue only
As the month of November slowly reaches mid-point, stores are finally beginning to stock the Nexus 6, assuming you’re shopping with Sprint that is. As of today, the darling device is now available at the Softbank-sponsored carrier. There is a slight catch however.
Sprint is only carrying the 32 GB Midnight Blue edition, and it retails for $696 (although no option for off-contract payment is yet available) and $299.99 with a 2-year commitment. Yes, you read that correctly: the phone costs roughly $50 more than it does on the Google Play Store for reasons unknown, though markup/profits come to mind. Then again, as the phone isn’t being sold by itself, the point is somewhat moot. Perhaps Sprint just wants to make uninformed customers think they are saving extra money by signing the dotted line.
While trying to complete the check-out process as of 6:33AM EST on the 14th, the device seems to be in-stock, however, it remains to be seen how long this situation lasts. Furthermore, it’s up-in-the-air as to what success one might have should they go to a physical store. Given that T-Mobile has been experiencing inventory problems, and Google can’t even keep the device in stock, period, chances are that the supply is limited and may go quickly.
