TL;DR
  • Strava is reportedly having trouble syncing with smartwatches.
  • Users are experiencing the issue on Galaxy, Garmin, and Apple devices.
  • It’s unclear what the cause of the issue is.

After a run, swim, ride, and so on, you shouldn’t have to even think about sending over your workout data from your smartwatch to Strava. Syncing your device with the app automatically uploads this recorded information to your profile. However, a new pesky bug appears to be getting in the way.

We’re seeing multiple reports on Reddit about an issue with Strava. According to the affected users, they are being greeted by an error message when attempting to connect their smartwatch to the app. The syncing issue reportedly persists whether you’re using the Samsung Health app or Health Connect.

A majority of the reports come from Garmin owners. However, the problem appears to be affecting other brands as well. We have also spotted complaints from owners of Galaxy and Apple devices.

At the moment, there’s no clear cause for the issue. Android Authority has reached out to Strava for comment. This article will be updated when new information becomes available. Tell us in the comments below if you’re also having trouble syncing to the Strava app.
