SwiftKey for Android now makes it easier to save and send text phrases

Fans of the popular smartphone keyboard app SwiftKey can check out a new version that’s rolling out to Android today. It includes some new features, such as an easier way to save and send out specific phrases to others.

The app’s new Clipboard feature will let you save specific phrases, such as your favorite greeting or your contact info, which can then be copy and pasted quickly into texts. The Clipboard was previously available in the beta version of the app, but now it’s finally been rolled out to the stable, consumer-ready version.

That’s not all, though. Another new feature is Shortcuts, which lets users set up a short word, such as “Home1” that can expand to a phrase that’s tied into it, like a home address. When the short word is typed, the longer phrase is automatically added to the text.

Finally, the update brings the previously announced Incognito mode, which lets you eliminate certain words and phrases from popping up in the keyboard’s predictions, just in case you want to turn over your phone to a child or other family member. The SwiftKey update also adds five new languages (Tibetan, Swiss German, Yakut, Low German-Plattdüütsch and Kurdish-Kurmanji), transliteration support for Hindi and Gujarati and the usual unnamed bug fixes and tweaks.
