During T-Mobile’s Uncarrier 1.0 livestream event, the company unveiled several new programs that will launch when and if its Sprint merger finalizes. One of which is its new T-Mobile Connect prepaid plan. For a measly $15 month, customers get unlimited talk and text as well as 2GB of high-speed data.

The plan also comes with what the company calls an Annual Data Upgrade feature. Every year for the next five years a customer subscribes to T-Mobile Connect, their data cap will increase by 500MB. Through this feature, the plan can increase to a maximum of 4GB.

If customers don’t want to wait for more monthly data, they can spend just $10 more per month for access to 5GB. To top it all off, the T-Mobile Connect prepaid plan is compatible with the company’s soon-to-be-released 5G network at no extra cost.

T-Mobile also announced two nationwide outreach programs during the Uncarrier event. The first is the Connecting Heroes Initiative. This program will provide free 5G access to “every first responder at every public and non-profit state and local police, fire, and EMS agency across the entire US.” This free 5G plan includes unlimited talk, text, and smartphone data.

The second initiative is called Project 10Million. Through this program, 10 million qualifying households can receive 100GB of free internet access per year and free Wi-Fi hotspots in the name of helping students achieve success in school. The carrier hopes this program will help minimize the homework gap affecting children across the US.

The carrier says it will support the Connecting Heroes Initiative for at least the next 10 years and Project 10Million for the next five. Only time will tell what the company decides to do after that.
