T-Mobile is about to make their 11th ‘Uncarrier’ move
— John Legere (@JohnLegere) June 2, 2016
T-Mobile has made a name for themselves with their guerrilla marketing tactics and scrappy, aggressive approach to engaging their competitors. And it has certainly paid off. The company had nearly drifted off the mobile map when John Legere took the reins as CEO and jump-started the carrier’s new public image, his controversial personality riding front and center. As part of a standing tradition, T-Mobile is about to make their eleventh ‘Uncarrier’ move, and they’ve been pushing the hype all day today.
The event will go down on June 6, and it will be livestreaming “pretty much EVERYWHERE,” according to Legere. He’s promising that we’ll be blown away by the bomb that T-Mobile has to drop on the mobile world. Historically, Uncarrier events have seen the company announcing large-scale policies that tend to go against the grain of conventional carrier business. Prepaid plans, free roaming to Canada and Mexico, and rollover data are the kind of things we’ve seen unveiled at Uncarrier events.
As to what we’ll be seeing this coming Monday… who knows? T-Mobile is stoking the fire, but they’re being very careful not to reveal too much about what’s to come. Even if you’re not on T-Mobile, it might be worth stopping in just to see John Legere doing his thing on stage. One thing is for sure: the guy is anything but boring.
