Tasker too complicated for you? New update lets you easily download recipes
- The latest Tasker update brings project-sharing functionality to the popular app.
- TaskerNet lets users share and download pre-made projects, reducing the need to manually enter instructions.
- The update also brings more Google Drive options and several new actions.
Tasker is one of the most powerful apps around, letting users automate everything from connectivity to text messages. It doesn’t have the easiest learning curve though, so we’re glad to see the developer bring a solution.
The Tasker 5.5 update is rolling out via the Google Play Store now, Droid-Life reports, and the changelog notes the addition of TaskerNet. The developer says this is “a place to share and import pre-made projects.”
To take advantage of TaskerNet, you’ll need to open a project on the platform, click import, enable the required permissions, and that’s it. The developer cautions that this is a staged rollout but, if all goes to plan, it should come to everyone in “the next few days.”
TaskerNet should therefore make for a much easier solution than following a list of instructions, solving what might be the biggest challenge for Tasker newbies (the user-interface).
Tasker 5.5 also introduces Google Drive file sharing/backup, multi-SIM support for sending text messages, and several new actions (data backup, display size, NFC, force rotation etc). So even if you don’t care for TaskerNet, the new update has a few more goodies for you.
Would this make you use Tasker, or have you been using it anyway? Either way, you can download the latest update via the Play Store button below.
