Three UK to more than double the number of 'roaming-free' countries next month
Roaming charges in Europe may already be a dead man walking, but that hasn’t stopped the UK’s Three network from speeding things along a little. Under its expanded ‘Feel at Home’ scheme, Three subscribers will be soon be able to use their regular call, text and data allowance in 42 countries, including most of Europe, without fear of increased roaming charges.
Feel at Home was already available in 18 countries, including the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain and Italy. But as of September, Three will be adding another 24 countries to the list, covering the vast majority of the EU. Only subscribers of Three’s advanced plans are supported however, so it’s tough luck for anyone on an essential plan. Feel at Home works on both PAYG plans and post-paid.
The new countries being added include: Belgium, Bulgaria, Channel Islands (Jersey & Guernsey), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Isle of Man, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia. Three claims their customers save an average of £202 annually when roaming with Feel at Home.
