T-Mobile's Revvl line continues to grow with the Revvl Plus and its dual cameras

T-Mobile's Revvl Plus looks to give budget-minded folks a phone with a big screen without the big price tag that sometimes comes with that.

T-Mobile might have launched its affordable Revvl smartphone back in August, but we previously reported that the magenta-colored carrier had two smartphones up its sleeve. It looks like one of those two officially broke cover as T-Mobile took the wraps off the Revvl Plus.

As the name suggests, the Revvl Plus is a large smartphone, and the 6-inch Full HD display does a good job at eliminating any notion of one-handed use you might have had. Since we’re on the front, you will find capacitive back, home, and multitasking buttons below the display and an 8 MP selfie camera above.

Around back sit the phone’s dual cameras in a vertical arrangement, with one sensor weighing in at 13 MP and the other at 5 MP, while a fingerprint sensor is found right below. The speaker sits below the T-Mobile branding on the back, which, when combined with the front, give the phone a stealthy look with some magenta accents.

Taking a peek under the hood reveals the Revvl Plus’ 2.0 GHz octa-core processor and 2 GB of RAM, with the sizable 3,380 mAh battery promising to deliver up to 16.5 hours of talk time. The 32 GB of native storage will likely be eaten up by the operating system and other little bits, so the micro SD card slot that can provide up to an extra 128 GB of memory is a welcome inclusion.

Finally, and somewhat unfortunately, the Revvl Plus runs a modified version of Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with no mention of an eventual update to Android 8.0 Oreo.

Overall, the Revvl Plus is a decent phone that looks to give budget-minded folks a big screen without the big price tag. Speaking of which, the Revvl Plus will go for $200 full price once it goes on sale on November 17. Alternatively, you can pay $0 down and $9 each month on JUMP! On Demand or $8 down and $8 each month on T-Mobile’s Equipment Installment Plan (EIP).
