US Amazon Prime members get free e-books and magazines
Not an Amazon Prime member yet? Now there is one more reason to join – Amazon just announced Prime Reading which gives US Prime members access to free e-books and magazines on any device. No e-reader required: just download the Kindle app on your phone, tablet, or computer, and start reading!
Amazon’s Prime membership was pretty revolutionary when it first launched: having things delivered in two days to your doorstep for an annual fee simply did not exist in North America. Since then, Amazon’s added a ton of other perks such as Prime Video, Prime Music, early access to Lightning Deals, and Amazon Drive.
Well, it looks like Amazon isn’t quite done yet. Amazon is introducing what is called Prime Reading: US Prime members can access unlimited reading from a selection of books, magazines, comics, and more:
Prime members can now enjoy an awesome selection of books including The Hobbit, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, The Man in the High Castle, plus magazines and more with Prime Reading – all for free on any device.
Although the selection is limited right now, our guess is Amazon will eventually expand its offering just like it did with Prime Video. If you are already an Amazon Prime member, you can head on over to Amazon’s website to start reading. If you are not, Amazon is offering a 30-day free trial of Prime here. After your trial period, if you wish to continue, it will be $99 a year, unless you are a student, in which case it will be $49 a year.
For all Prime members out there: will you be trying out Prime Reading? Let us know in the comment section below!
