TL;DR
  • There’s a new USB-C charger that supports a max charge rate of 240W.
  • The charger is an AC power supply designed for computers.
  • It’s available to order for $126.37.

If you want your computer to charge up fast, then you need a charger with a fast charge rate. For those looking for the fastest charger on the USB-C Power Delivery standard (USB-PD), you’ll have a tough time finding one faster than the one Delta Electronics has just released.

It’s likely you won’t recognize the name Delta Electronics as it’s an original design manufacturer (ODM) and not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM). This means it’s the company that makes the products that OEMs buy and then rebrand as their own. For example, some of its customers include Dell and Lenovo. However, Delta Electronics has just released a 240W USB-C charger that you can actually buy for yourself.

The ADP-240KB charger is an AC power supply that supports up to 240W, making it one of the first 240W USB-PD chargers you can buy. On the listing, it’s described as an AC adapter meant to be used for desktop. If you decide to purchase it, you’ll just be getting the power brick as the AC cable appears to not be included.

This charger is a bit excessive as you probably don’t even have a device that supports up to 240W charging. But if you absolutely must have the best, this charger is being sold by US component distributor Mouser Electronics. It is available for $126.37, shipping not included. However, if you get a pack of 10, the price per charger drops down to $118.08.
