Forget all those fancy features and cute designs. If what you want is the biggest, loudest, and baddest portable speaker in the market, we might have found the one. This accessory is named Valkyrie and is made by Njord Audio.

From the first time you lay eyes on the Valkyrie you know it’s serious business. The thing is huge! It measures (750 x 480 x 280 mm), making the case as large as a suitcase. And just by looking at it you can tell it’s rugged. I mean, the thing looks like machine gun case, and the creators say it is as tough as it looks!

The speaker box is water, dust, and shock proof when sealed. The team is shown lighting it on fire and throwing it into the ocean. It seems to handle anything.

“The loudest, most extreme and outrageous portable speaker on the planet, no questions asked… “

Knowing we can depend on this thing not breaking is great, but we aren’t about to take it to war, so let’s dig into the sound. The speaker features a couple 12-inch woofers, a 6.5-inch mid-range driver, a bullet tweeter, and a 1,000 W amplifier.

All of this equates to  30 Hz – 20 kHz frequency range and 125 dB of sound. To compare, a concert is estimated to be as loud as 119 dB, while a thunderclap should measure in at about 122 dB.

Of course, it does have aux in/out, as well as Bluetooth connectivity. You can use this with any device and it is made to be carried around (even if uncomfortably). The 480 WH battery can last 8 – 60 hours on a single charge, too. It can recharge in just three hours, which is pretty quick for a speaker like this one.

Interested? It is not as expensive as we thought it would be. You can sign up for one by supporting the company’s Kickstarter campaign. The lowest offer is set at DKK 3,280, which is about $549 USD.
