Verizon HTCOne M7 getting Lollipop this Thursday
While the One M9 is the current hotness from HTC, the original One (m7) still remains a solid handset and is still enjoyed by many as a daily driver. The biggest downside for Verizon One M7 owners is the lack of Lollipop, something that Sprint and T-Mobile owners have had for a while now. The good news is that this is finally changing!
HTC’s Mo Versi took to Twitter today to announce that Verizon has approved the Lollipop update for the M7, and the OTA will begin pushing out this Thursday.
The update to Android 5.0 will include all the security enhancements of Lollipop as well as a number of visual tweaks including improved notifications and a redesigned recent apps panel. One of the biggest changes in vanilla Android is Material Design, and while the update will bring some of these aesthetic improvements, they will be much less noticeable due to HTC’s custom skin.
We’ll be sure to update this post as soon as the update goes live. Verizon M7 owners, now that Lollipop is finally here, do you plan on keeping your phone longer or are you preparing to update to a newer device in 2015?
