Visible will knock $5 off your phone bill for the next five years

Cheap wireless plans are easy to appreciate until the price starts creeping up or the best deal disappears. That’s part of what made Visible’s Visible One bundle interesting when it launched in August, combining mobile service and fiber internet under one bill. Now the Verizon-owned carrier is making another play for value-conscious switchers, this time with a much simpler offer: $5 off every month for five years.

The promotion is available to new Visible customers who port in a number from an eligible carrier and sign up for either Visible Plus or Visible Plus Pro. Use promo code 5OFF5 at checkout, and Visible Plus drops from $35 to $30 per month, while Visible Plus Pro falls from $45 to $40 per month. That discount lasts for 60 months, which works out to $300 in total savings if you stay for the full five years.

You can either bring your own phone or buy one from Visible, but there are a few requirements. You must select a monthly Visible Plus or Visible Plus Pro plan, port in from an eligible carrier, and complete that port within 30 days of activation. Annual plans aren’t eligible.

There’s also an important catch if you change plans later. Moving between Visible Plus and Visible Plus Pro won’t kill the discount; the same $5 savings continues for whatever remains of the original 60-month period. However, if you drop to the cheaper $25 Visible plan, you’ll lose the remaining promotional benefit. Canceling service ends it too.

Visible also says the offer can’t be combined with other service promotions, device promotions, or Inner Circle credits. Taxes and fees are already included in the monthly price.

Against the backdrop of increasingly complicated and expensive postpaid plans, the appeal here is pretty straightforward: Switch, pick one of Visible’s premium tiers, and keep paying $5 less every month for five years.
