A Snapdragon 888 phone is coming to India for under Rs 40,000
- Vivo’s Iqoo sub-brand says it will launch a Snapdragon 888 phone in India for under Rs 40,000 (~$550).
- This is expected to be the Iqoo 7, which launched in China earlier this year.
We’ve seen a couple of Snapdragon 888 flagships hit India already, such as the Galaxy S21 series and OnePlus 9 range. But what if you want the cheapest possible flagship with the best silicon possible?
That’s where vivo’s Iqoo sub-brand comes in, as it confirmed on Twitter that it’s bringing a Snapdragon 888 phone to India for under Rs 40,000 (~$550). Check out a screenshot of the tweet below.
Presumably the company is launching the Iqoo 7 in India, as this device already launched in China earlier this year. The flagship is indeed equipped with the Snapdragon 888 SoC, 8GB to 12GB of RAM, and 128GB to 256GB of fixed storage.
Other notable Iqoo 7 specs include a 120Hz FHD+ OLED screen, a flexible triple rear camera arrangement (48MP main, 13MP ultra-wide, 13MP 2x telephoto), and a 4,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
The cheapest Snapdragon 888 device in India right now is the newly launched OnePlus 9, starting at Rs 49,999 (~$688) for the 8GB/128GB model. You will be missing out on an ultra-high resolution ultra-wide camera, wireless charging, and a bigger battery by skipping the OnePlus device. But if all you care about is a ton of horsepower at the cheapest price, then you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on the Iqoo device. And you’re getting faster wired charging and a telephoto camera too.
