Get an Amazon Fire TV Edition Smart TV
The easiest way to watch Amazon Prime Video on a TV is simply to buy a new smart TV that has the Amazon Fire TV OS already installed. No fuss, no muss. The Amazon Prime Video app is front and center in these smart televisions with the Fire TV OS. They also have tons of other streaming video apps you can access for even more content, including Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, CBS All Access, and much more.
Currently, Toshiba and Insignia sell Amazon Fire TV Edition televisions. They are pretty affordable too, so they won’t be burning any holes in your pockets.
Get the Amazon Prime Video app for your smart TV
Thankfully, you are not limited to the Fire TV-based smart televisions when it comes to watching Amazon Prime Video on your TV. Most smart televisions that have released in the last several years come with the Amazon Prime Video app pre-installed. All you need to do is sign in with your Amazon account and you’re ready to start watching your favorite shows and movies.
Supported smart TV’s are available from Samsung, Sony, LG, and more. In addition, smart TVs with the Roku OS installed, which include TCL’s smart TV’s have the Amazon Prime Video app as well. You’re unlikely to run into any issues getting Amazon Prime Video if you buy a new smart TV. If the app isn’t already pre-installed, it will definitely show up on a Featured Apps list or whatever app store the television uses.
Get a gaming console
If you already have a gaming console or are planning to get one, the good news is that you don’t need anything else to enjoy Amazon Prime on your TV. The Prime Video app is available on all modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Just keep in mind some older ones only support HD streaming. The PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One consoles, and Xbox Series X/S support 4K, though.

Get a media streaming device
One of the easiest, and often the cheapest, ways to get Amazon Prime on a TV is by getting a media streaming device. Not only does this allow you to make a regular TV smart, but the interface of these devices is often faster and easier to navigate.
The Prime Video app is available on Chromecast dongles, Roku devices, Apple TV, and of course, Amazon’s own Fire TV devices.

Use your computer!
There’s no absolute need to get any dedicated devices if you already have a computer. You can display your PC’s screen on a TV, and all you need to do this is an HDMI cable. If your laptop doesn’t come with one, you can get a USB hub to get access to more ports. This works whether you have a Windows, MacOS, Chrome OS, or any other computer. It also doesn’t matter if it’s a laptop or a desktop PC.
