What is Hulu Unlimited Screens?

The feature is a paid add-on for the Hulu Plus Live TV service. Normally, the amount of concurrent streams on the service is limited to just two devices at once. However, the Unlimited Screens add-on will give Hulu Plus Live TV subscribers a way to watch the many networks and shows on the service on as many devices as they want at once on their home network. This gives the service a huge advantage over other streaming services like Netflix which have strict concurrent stream limits.

Normally, the price for Hulu Plus Live TV is $69.99 a month, and it will be going up to $74.99 a month on December 8. The Unlimited Screens feature can be added to the service for an additional $9.99 a month.

This feature is obviously targeted at families. The add-on will allow parents and their kids to watch Hulu Plus Live TV separately in their home at the same time.

How to add Unlimited Screens to your Hulu Plus Live TV subscription

Here’s how to add the feature to your subscription:

• Go to your Hulu account page on the service’s website (not on your Hulu mobile app or smart TV).
• Go to the Select Add-ons section of the account page.
• Then, select the (+) icon next to the Unlimited Screens add-on.
• Finally, select the Review Changes page to confirm your purchase of the add-on and you are done.

What limits does it have?

The feature, even though it has “unlimited” in its title, does indeed have a few limits. If you are traveling outside of your home internet connection, you can only stream Hulu Plus Live TV on up to three mobile screens at once. Also, if you have added one or more of the HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, or Starz add-ons to your subscription, you can only screen content from those paid channel services on up to five devices at once. Three of those devices can be outside of your home internet connection.
