IFA 2026: Here's what to expect from the tech show

IFA is one of the big tech events of the year, frequently attracting everyone from ASUS and HONOR to Samsung and Lenovo. It’s also a curiosity on the calendar as the event is open to the public.

What will be announced at IFA 2026, though? And who will be there? Here’s what we’re expecting from the major consumer tech companies next month.

IFA 2026: Important information

What is IFA? IFA stands for Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin. It’s the largest annual tech convention in Europe. IFA attracted roughly 220,000 visitors last year. That was an impressive figure for the post-pandemic era, but still short of 2019’s 238,700 attendees.

When is IFA 2026? IFA 2026 takes place from September 4-8.

Where will IFA 2026 take place? IFA takes place at the Berlin Messe in Berlin, Germany.

Is IFA 2026 open to the public? Yes! IFA has long been open to the public. Adult tickets start at €21.50 in advance or €28 at the door, while children aged 15 and under can enter for free.

What to expect at IFA 2026?

Loads of companies attend IFA every year, be it via a direct presence on the show floor or with an event on the sidelines. Here are some of the expected and confirmed attendees, along with our expectations.

Acer

For what it’s worth, the company announced a sub-1kg CoPilot Plus laptop last year, so don’t be surprised if Acer has a sequel up its sleeve. The firm has also previously shown off concept devices like Project DualPlay. You therefore shouldn’t count out more concepts this year.

Google-powered laptops are in a bit of a holding pattern ahead of the Googlebook launch on September 15. So I wouldn’t bet on seeing Googlebooks or Chromebooks at IFA, but stranger things have happened.

DJI

DJI is no stranger to IFA, and the company has confirmed that it will hold a launch event at IFA 2026. The firm will be holding a launch event for its Romo 2 series of robot vacuums. Nevertheless, we’re still expecting more news on drones and cameras.

HONOR

HONOR launched its crazy Robot Phone in China earlier this month, but it hasn’t actually launched in global markets just yet. IFA 2026 seems like the perfect time and place for a wider release. This phone has a 200MP main camera mounted on a literal gimbal arm. How cool is that?

We’ve also seen rumors that HONOR could be working on a wide foldable phone. This makes us wonder whether the firm could tease this product in Berlin. Otherwise, it’s not out of the question that we could see some ecosystem announcements, such as tablets, laptops, or audio products.

Lenovo

We’re not sure if Lenovo will actually be at IFA 2026, but the company usually has a presence of some kind. I’m bracing for at least one concept PC on the show floor. Last year, it unveiled a laptop with a screen that could rotate to portrait orientation. It showed off the Auto Twist AI PC Concept in 2024, which could automatically twist its screen to follow you.

Otherwise, we’re expecting potential Lenovo Legion gaming products, new Windows machines, and accessories. If Lenovo will actually be in Germany in the first place.

Samsung

Samsung is a major sponsor of IFA’s Creator Hub, but we’re not optimistic about a more substantial presence. It sounds like the company isn’t actually planning any big announcements in Berlin.

The company is launching the Galaxy S26 FE on August 27. We’re also expecting the Galaxy Tab S12 series at some point, but history suggests that Samsung won’t launch it at IFA.

TCL

TCL has confirmed its attendance at IFA 2026. The manufacturer will exhibit “flagship SQD-Mini LED displays, NXTPAPER mobile devices, and the latest RayNeo smart glasses.” You can also expect new air conditioners and washing machines.

Will we actually see all-new TCL NXTPAPER phones and tablets, though? And what about its Android XR glasses? We’re crossing our fingers. However, Google previously said that Android XR glasses are coming in the fall.

TECNO

TECNO always has something interesting up its sleeve for trade shows, and IFA is no different. Last year, the company showed off the 5.93mm TECNO Slim phone, while it showed the Pocket Go Windows AR gaming system in 2024.

What could TECNO show off at IFA 2026? The company has teased the arrival of a phone with a truly bezel-less display, while YouTuber MKBHD recently went hands-on as well. That sounds intriguing, but we hope this eventually translates into a real product.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi has announced that it will make its IFA debut this year, and it sounds like the company is pulling out all the stops for its first event. The manufacturer says it will show how AI can connect “personal devices, the smart home and, increasingly, smart mobility” into one experience. It’s also promising “several European firsts” across its ecosystem.

We’ve heard rumors for a while now that the company is working on a wide foldable. Xiaomi then announced on Weibo on August 24 that the Xiaomi 18 Fold is coming and will launch in September. So this seems like a prime candidate for an IFA launch. Otherwise, we’re not sure about other products in the pipeline.
