Where can I watch the Harry Potter movies?

Is Harry Potter on Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, or Hulu?

Sadly, the biggest streaming services don’t have direct access to the Harry Potter movies. The closest you can get from these sources is signing up for the Hulu Plus Live TV option. It costs $69.99 a month, but it offers HBO Max as an add-on for an additional $14.99 a month.

Where to watch Harry Potter films

Peacock

Currently, there are two options for streaming all eight of the Harry Potter films if you live in the US. The first and much cheaper option is to stream them via Peacock. The NBCUniversal-owned service offers some of the movies online for free, but to watch all eight, you have to sign up for Peacock Premium. It costs $4.99 a month (with ads) or $9.99 a month (without ads).

HBO Max

Warner Bros currently also has all eight Harry Potter movies to stream on its HBO Max service. You can sign up for $9.99 a month (with ads) or $14.99 a month (without ads).

While it’s cheaper to watch the Potter films on Peacock, true franchise fans might want to spend a bit more to watch the films on HBO Max. That’s because the service has even more official Potter film and TV content to check out.

Return to Hogwarts special

We will start with the recently released Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. The one-off special features a number of the actors and crew members of the Potter movies, including the lead actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, getting back together and looking back at the making of the film series.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses

There’s also this 2021 trivia game show that was first shown on TBS. The four-episode series, hosted by Helen Mirren, features teams of Potter fans that compete against each other, answering tough trivia questions about the franchise.

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone: Magical Movie Mode

HBO Max also has a special version of the first movie in the series. It includes special pop-up content on the screen that will give viewers movie trivia, behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, and much more.

The Fantastic Beasts series

HBO Max is the only place to stream the Fantastic Beasts movie series, which takes place in the same Wizarding World universe, but decades before the Potter films begin. You can stream the first two films (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald) on the service right now. The third film in the series (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore) is scheduled to hit theaters on April 15, 2022, and it should arrive on HBO Max in early June 2022.
