Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G can be fully charged in well under an hour

Xiaomi previously confirmed that its upcoming Mi 9 Pro 5G will offer 30W wireless charging when it launches on September 24. But the new phone is packing some cutting edge charging capabilities elsewhere too.

The brand has revealed on Weibo that the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will also offer 40W wired charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. Check out one of the promotional images below.

The manufacturer also noted that the Mi 9 Pro 5G’s 4,000mAh battery can be charged in just 48 minutes as a result of the 40W charging speed. That’s a way off the OPPO Reno Ace‘s 65W speed, promising a full 4,000mAh battery in only 25 minutes. But the Xiaomi device will still deliver fast charging speeds compared to the rest of the industry.

Prefer wireless charging to wired charging? Well, the company says the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will hit 50% capacity after 25 minutes of 30W wireless charging. The phone will also hit 100% juice after 69 minutes of wireless charging.

Xiaomi is also bringing 10W reverse wireless charging to the 5G handset, allowing you to charge up other devices like wireless earbuds and other Qi-compatible phones. This should result in faster charging times than reverse wireless charging seen on Samsung and Huawei devices.

An earlier TENAA listing notes that the phone will pack a Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, 48MP triple camera setup, and up to 512GB of storage. As for the all-important price? Well, we’ll just have to wait until September 24 for these details.
