Xiaomi Mi 9T announced: It's the Redmi K20 for European users
We’ve heard about the Xiaomi Mi 9T for a few weeks now, and the Chinese brand has finally decided to take the wraps off the new device. Well, we say it’s new, but we’re actually looking at the Redmi K20.
The Xiaomi Mi 9T isn’t quite a 2019 flagship in terms of core specs, but it gets really close anyway. That means an upper mid-range Snapdragon 730 chipset, 6GB to 8GB of RAM, 64GB to 256GB of fixed storage, and a 6.39-inch full HD+ AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
That screen is notch-free too, thanks to the addition of a pop-up selfie camera housing (20MP). Other camera details include a triple rear camera combination, featuring a 48MP main sensor (IMX582), 13MP ultra-wide shooter, and 8MP 2x telephoto snapper.
The Mi 9T also gets a substantial battery bump over the regular Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE, serving up a 4,000mAh battery. There’s no 27 watt fast charging here, but 18 watt charging isn’t too shabby at all.
A 3.5mm port, NFC, Game Turbo 2.0 support, USB-C, dual-nano SIM capabilities, and MIUI 10 atop Android Pie round out the package.
Xiaomi’s Mi 9T will be available in Europe via Amazon and the Xiaomi website from June 17, starting at 299 euros (~$339) for the 6GB/64GB variant, and 399 euros (~$452) for the 6GB/128GB option. By comparison, the Redmi K20 has a starting Chinese price of ~$289 and ~$304 respectively. The company also announced the availability of the Mi Band 4 in Europe, with a retail price of 34.99 euros (~$40), as well as Mi True Wireless Earphones for 79.99 euros (~$91).
