Xiaomi Mi Band 4 will arrive this year, but probably not in next few months
Huami — the company responsible for the line of Xiaomi Mi Band fitness trackers, as well as the line of Amazfit smartwatches and trackers — recently conducted a quarterly earnings call. During the chat, some info was dropped about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Band 4.
According to David Cui, Chief Financial Officer at Huami, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 will land sometime this year. However, it isn’t likely to land this month or the next.
The full quote, transcribed by The Motley Fool, is here:
For Mi Band 4, it’s going to be in this year. It will be in 2019. But I’m not sure, it’s going to be in March and April. But, it is going to be in this year. So, right now, Mi Band 3 is still hot sale — is still — so really, really well. The margin is not shrinking, the shipments are not shrinking. So we will pick — work with Xiaomi to pick the right time to launch Mi Band 4 in the year.
Elsewhere in the call, the executives discuss how with each iteration of the Mi Band line, something fresh and new is brought to the table. The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 will be no different, they claimed. What this means, we don’t know, but it suggests the Mi Band 4 will come with at least one killer new feature.
The call also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi Band line, as well as the line of Amazfit products, are doing exceptionally well. According to the call, Huami grew revenues by 78 percent in 2018, “propelled primarily by the strong sales of Amazfit’s smartwatches and the Mi Band 3.”
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 received glowing reviews, including from here at Android Authority. When the Mi Band 4 lands later this year, hopefully, it will continue Xiaomi’s successful trend of powerful fitness trackers at very reasonable prices.
