Leaked Mi Mix 4 video shows super flexible screen, under-display camera
- A new video has shown off what could be the Mi Mix 4’s screen and under-display selfie camera.
- The screen seems very flexible in the clip, but we don’t expect this to be the case in the final product.
Xiaomi is holding an event on August 10 and it confirmed that the Mi Mix 4 will be revealed on the day. We’re eagerly looking forward to what the company could have up its sleeve, as the Mix series often brings a radical design to the table.
Now, leaker Digital Chat Station has shared a video on Weibo that purportedly shows the Mi Mix 4 screen. We have two takeaways here, namely the flexible nature of the screen and the presence of an under-display selfie camera. Check out the video below.
The leaker adds in a follow-up comment that this is an “unpackaged screen” that hasn’t been fitted to a phone yet. So we’re guessing that the display won’t be that flexible in the final product. After all, issues such as durability and rigid internal components like batteries could complicate matters. But we do wonder what the Mi Mix 4 could look like though.
The original Mi Mix delivered a high screen/body ratio months before the industry at large adopted this trend. Meanwhile, the Mi Mix 2 upped the screen/body ratio even more and delivered a ceramic body. Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3 delivered a slider design, while the scuppered Mi Mix Alpha had a display that wrapped around the back of the device.
Xiaomi’s latest Mi Mix would be the company’s first device with an under-display selfie camera, but it wouldn’t be the first major phone with this tech (that honor goes to the ZTE Axon 20). So we hope the company has more tricks up its sleeve. We don’t have long to go until the August 10 reveal, so all will be revealed in just a few days.
