Xiaomi's new Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition is a slim Android TV on the cheap
- Xiaomi has launched the Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition in India.
- The Android TV comes in two size variants.
- It features PatchWall 3.0 on top of Android 9 Pie.
Xiaomi has added a new television to its existing Android TV lineup in India. Called the Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition, the new model from Xiaomi tops out with a 43-inch thin-bezel FHD screen and a cheap price tag of Rs 22,999 (~$313). There’s also a 32-inch HD option in the series which comes in at Rs 13,499 (~$184)
Since it’s an Android TV, the new Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition features support for a massive library of apps thanks to the built-in Google Play Store. You also get native support for Google Chromecast, Google Assistant, and Google Data Saver. The Android TV version on the Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition is Android 9 Pie, which is what you’ll get on most Android TVs right now. Google had announced an Android TV version based on Android 10 back in December 2019, but it might be a while before you see that update on your TVs. For reference, the Android 9 update only rolled out to Android TVs at the end of 2019.
Nevertheless, Xiaomi’s Android TVs come with its own skin on top and the Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition is no different. It features the PatchWall 3.0 UI with support for universal search, a dedicated sports page powered by Disney Plus Hotstar, improved animations, horizontal scrolling, and more. If you’re wondering what streaming services you get on the TV, worry not as it supports all major platforms, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus Hotstar, and 20 others.
Elsewhere, the new Xiaomi Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition gets a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage, three HDMI ports, two USB-A ports, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. For audio, the TV is equipped with 20W speakers and DTS-HD sound.
That’s all there is to know about the new Xiaomi Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition. The 32-inch variant of the TV will be available starting September 11 on Xiaomi’s India website as well as Amazon India. Meanwhile, the 43-inch Mi TV 4A Horizon Edition will go on sale beginning September 15 through the same online outlets.
