Update: December 18, 2020 (1:40 AM ET): Xiaomi has now shared the European price and availability details for the Mi Watch Lite with Android Authority.

The smartwatch will cost €49.90 (~$61) and will be available starting December 22. The exact sale time might vary according to the time zone.

Xiaomi also confirmed to us that it does not plan to launch the wearable in the US as of now.

Original article: October 29, 2020 (2:33 AM ET): Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Watch in China, delivering a cut-price smartwatch experience to users. But even before the launch, we had hints that the watch could be rebranded as the Mi Watch Lite in some markets.

Now, Xiaomi has quietly listed the Mi Watch Lite on its global website, and it’s indeed a rebadged Redmi Watch. In other words, you’ve got a 1.41-inch (320 x 320) rectangular display and a design that’s vaguely reminiscent of the Apple Watch. The Xiaomi watch even sports exercise tracking that’s similar to Apple’s Rings feature.

Other notable hardware features include TPU straps, a heart-rate monitor, a 230mAh battery that delivers up to nine days of “typical” usage, integrated GPS, and 5ATM water resistance.

All of this hardware doesn’t mean much if the software isn’t up to scratch, but the Mi Watch Lite delivers a host of health and fitness features. These include guided breathing exercises, sleep monitoring, heart-rate tracking, and 11 workout modes. The 11 tracked workouts include running, cycling, treadmills, walking, swimming, and cricket.

You’ve also got your typical smartwatch features here, such as mirrored notifications/calls/texts, music controls for your phone, and sedentary reminders.

We’ve asked Xiaomi for pricing and availability information, and will update the article if/when they get back to us. But we’re expecting a price bump over the Redmi Watch’s ~$45 price tag in China.
