Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet and non-flagship Xperia phone leak in new images
While Sony isn’t unveiling the Xperia Z4 anytime soon, that doesn’t mean they won’t have at least a few new goods to show off when MWC kicks off a few days from now. We’ve already heard rumors and seen Sony accidentally (or not?) leak the Xperia Z4 Tablet but now we have a new picture of the front of the device, alongside images of a new non-flagship Xperia handset.
The latest leaked images come by way of XperiaBlog. The first thing you’ll notice is that the Z4 Tablet looks quite similar to the Z2 Tablet from the front side, though the headphone jack has been moved from the bottom to the top this time around. Another small visual change can be found in the volume rocker, which was silver on the Z2 Tablet and it appears to be black here. However, probably the most exciting tidbit we can learn from the leaked Z4 Tablet image is that the tablet appears to be running Sony’s Android 5.0 Lollipop build out of the box.
Turning to the leaked Xperia handset, we see a phone with front facing speakers, an exposed microUSB port, a front-facing camera and again what appears to be Android 5.0 Lollipop. According to XperiaBlog, Sony is pulling an OPPO of sorts and will be calling the phone the Xperia M4 Aqua, skipping over the M3 entirely. We can’t speak on the accuracy of this claim, though we’d say it’s a pretty safe bet that the phone will at least be dubbed as a new member of the Xperia M series.
The rumor mill suggests that the M4 Aqua (or whatever they call it) may feature a 1.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 610, 2GB RAM, a 5.2-inch 720p display, a 13MP rear cam and 5MP front cam. Of course, that’s all just speculation at this stage.
What do you think, excited to see the Xperia Z4 Tablet and the next-gen Xperia M? Are you disappointed the Z4 won’t be making its debut or are you happy that Sony is giving the device a bit more time in the oven?
