ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe with Snapdragon 821 coming to US this month
Google launched the Pixel phones with the Snapdragon 821 processor just few days ago, but it seems like we’ll be seeing more smartphones with the same chipset in the coming months, like the ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition – that’s a mouthful! The Special Edition of the Zenfone 3 Deluxe will be available in the US for $799 by the end of October.
Back in May, ASUS launched a number of new handsets as part of its new Zenfone 3 family, and to be quite honest, it’s been chaotically confusing to keep track of which is which. There’s so many monikers and different configurations within them. The Zenfone 3 Deluxe and the Zenfone 3 Laser are already officially available in the US through Amazon. Now, ASUS is gearing up to release the Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition, which is essentially the higher configuration Zenfone 3 Deluxe, except with the all-new Snapdragon 821 processor.
Just to recall, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition has a 5.7-inch Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by the same Snapdragon 821 processor found in the Pixel phones. What differentiates this phone from the Pixel duo is that the Zenfone 3 comes with 6GB of RAM as well as a whopping 23-megapixel rear camera. And the 3000mAh battery should keep you going for at least a full day.

If $799 is a bit too steep, you can pick up the Zenfone 3 Deluxe – which has the same specs except it is powered by Snapdragon 820 – and that will set you back $499. The lower configuration for the Zenfone 3 Deluxe will be $399. Considering the 5-inch Pixel phone is priced at $649, I’d say that’s not a bad deal.
ASUS is going to have a busy time in the coming months as it prepares to launch the beautifully-crafted ZenWatch 3, which will be available in November for $229. Along with that, the Taiwanese company will be releasing the ZenPad 3S 10 for $299. All devices and pre-orders will be available through the official ASUS website.
